Gluten-free breakfast delight

If you follow a special diet there are worse things to do than book into a Holiday inn and add breakfast to your menu of options.

An entire side of the workspace devoted to those with food allergies that meet the gluten-free criteria awaits as you rise from a night of slumber away from home.

Individually packed cakes — genoa, chocolate and Madeira— cereals or porridge to order — full labelling — access to a full English which includes the sausages, choice of freshly prepared eggs, hash browns and a choice of white or brown bread. Even a separate toaster to use — the staff have thought of everything and are there to guide you through anything you need to ask — speed is also a priority.

The only downfall is a temptation — It’s worth remembering that an average adult needs 2000 calories daily. You could easily consume this in one sitting — there are options though. Two poached eggs will cost you less than 1 fried one — porridge is delicious — other cereals are available. Tomatoes — baked beans — yoghurts and fruits.

To support with this the calories are set out clearly on the menu — your waistline can still be watched— the upside is a great treat — a delicious meal to set you up for the day ahead — whether it be work or pleasure you are sure to find what you need.

Allows access to a full menu of options whether your preference is continental or full — without having to envy those tucking into muffins, cakes and pastries. Also good for travelling companions who may feel guilty about their range of choice over yours.

So a treat whilst away is great but once that is over then it’s back to healthy diets again! Or you can still have that healthy meal just made and prepared for you! With no restrictions on choice — great value for money — especially if included in your room rate.
