Updated: Feb 21, 2023

Mariam Bennouna’s story is one filled with passion — drive — determination — a desire to help others, tinged with an element of sadness. As 12 years ago aged just 28 she received a diagnosis that would shake even the toughest senior members of the population.

Despite the concerns about her health — a shock diagnosis of Parkinson’s— symptoms and concerns about the future — Mariam highlights that there have been positives. It has taught her to:

  • turn weaknesses into strengths.

  • always fight to be a better version of herself

  • be resilient and never surrender under any condition

She has discovered inner talents she didn’t know existed and changed both her career path and the way she looks at the world and everything that includes.
