Switch on any news channel right now and what do you get? Cost of living crisis — strike after strike — missing persons — war — not exactly heart warming and exciting. Many programmes try to squeeze in a good news story but usually at the end when many of us have already switched off whether we mean to or not.
So what can we do instead — hide away — not turn on the TV — avoid our smartphones and tablets. Perhaps find alternatives to watch instead. Have music on the radio and avoid the news.
One better option is positive news. The homepage shows an immediate difference. The heading is ‘What went right this week?’. Apparently, ‘Britain’s rainforests got a boost, Europe embraced slow travel, and the UK’s green sector defied the economic gloom’. Plus to my delight, I am promised more.
Whether you're interested in society, travel, conservation or health there is something here to give you a boost instead of dragging you down.
How you get your fill is up to you. A weekly newsletter — social media channels — the website — or subscribe to the magazine. If you love to learn — want some different stories — widen your horizons — be inspired — or simply have something to look at then this is a great opportunity.
An alternative is Good News Network a source of good news that has been reporting positive news from around the world that has uplifted and inspired millions to become more optimistic for over 20 years.
