Stay in contact — be connected. Isn’t that what we are supposed to do?
It’s what the NHS mental health programme is all about if you have issues with anxiety.
Comparisons are made and felt deeply. Emotions can run high. Stress levels rise. Links and connections — reading into what those we communicate share. The happy smiling faces in photos — real or not real? Social media fuels the pain.
They claim to have been here and there. Working, socialising and exercising and whatever they have to do above you. They continue ‘We work so hard. ’We also do this and this and this. Do they not see how that makes our lives even worse?
The feeling of being inadequate — that you are a lesser human because you happen to have a chronic/Long term health condition.
The inability to avoid comparisons. The ‘If I can do it anyone can’ scenarios. Frustration — this is what makes the world go round — we are all different. When will that be recognised and praised?
Whilst NHS support is welcomed, the need to educate on what people have to go through every day is actually more important to some.
Make a fuss and people don’t know how to react and think you are making excuses. Keep the pain inside and then get told to get a grip and sort yourself out.
Seems like a no-win situation to me…
