Why Bear Hugs is leading the way for those with chronic health conditions

Receiving a hug in a box is the creation of Chief Bear Hugger Faye who herself has Lyme Disease. Inspired by a care package sent to her this inspirational woman whilst very ill and supported by the Prince’s Trust has created a business that really makes a difference in people's lives.

It sees lucky friends and family members receive personalised hampers of gifts and treats all aimed to spread love, comfort and joy. Sent directly to the individual enabling a hug from a distance. Giving pleasure to those who may struggle to get out. A posted gift can mean so much.

Boxes contain a range of items from various categories including — something to drink — something to pamper — something to do — little gestures and personal gestures. Children and babies are not left out either.

This business is more than just about making money. It’s about giving back — providing opportunities for those with disabilities — chronic illnesses and supporting the mental health of many through its work with charities.

For every 50 boxes sold a free one is donated to someone with a chronic illness or disability. Monthly nominations are accepted on a particular theme with the winner being chosen at random and then receiving a customised Bear Hug gift box as a surprise. Further gifts go to charity organisations to support those they work with.

The company actively promotes accessible employment offering a range of remote positions and employing staff with a mix of conditions.

So whether you are after a hot chocolate stirrer, some hand cream or some retro sweets you need look no further than Bear Hug Gifts!
