The Pituitary Gland
The pituitary gland is complex as the function of the gland affects numerous parts of the body. For something so small it's a vital part of the body to enable us to live and It regulates hormones, supports mood and behaviour, controls the thyroid gland and regulates metabolism to name just a few. It can cause many conditions and problems with everyday life and with conditions rare and lack of training for Dr's conditions are often missed or take years to diagnose. It is thought that there are some 70,000 people in the UK who have a pituitary condition. many of these could be misdiagnosed or still be looking for that elusive diagnosis.
