Supporting those with Pituitary Conditions, Addison's Disease & their Mental Health
SupplementaryTreatments
Alongside the normal medication which you will need to take for your pituitary condition, there are many other things that could help you.
Pacing and Chunking
One of the key symptoms associated with pituitary conditions is fatigue. We aren't talking 'being tired' here. Fatigue is more than that. It usually gets referred to be patients as 'brain Fog'. As so many of the symptoms are variable it makes the management of the condition very difficult. It is far more complex than just having regular breaks.
As a rule pacing and chunking, assessing your health and how you feel gives you the best possible chance of making it through the day without 'hitting the wall' as marathon runners would say. Hitting empty is not a good thing to do.
Learning about your condition properly and keeping a log of your health is vital if you want to be able to complete tasks and not hit that wall that we dread so much -- you need to be prepared to take the time to analyse how you feel, what you want to be able to do and how to get there.
Look at it as a project plan. So take the tasks you need to be able to do and how to get there. Break everything down into small achievable goals. Small steps are the best ones. Keep an eye on pain and fatigue levels. Most of all be kind to yourself and reward yourself for hitting your targets. Self-care is extremely important.
