As a part of the 30 years of The Pituitary Foundation celebration, members of the pituitary community were asked to nominate someone within the pituitary community who has made a significant difference to those living with pituitary conditions.
Throughout the year they are sharing details of the selected ‘heroes’ in celebration of their work and highlighting the great work that they do. Each has a unique story to tell and their own special way of helping others. Keep an eye out on social media and the Pituitary Foundation website for more details.
You can find full details of all the heroes and their stories here: https://www.pituitary.org.uk/campaign/pituitary-hero/

Volunteering is a great thing to do and has many benefits. These can include:
Developing new skills and valuable work experience.
Making new friends.
Better physical and mental health and wellbeing.
Giving something back.
Improving your confidence.
Sense of connection to others in the community.
Improve how things work for the better.
Shows your commitment.
So whatever time you may have free then try it out for yourself and see what you can achieve. A little support goes a long way and will be greatly appreciated by anyone who you help and support in the process.
Not everyone will gain awards but personal achievement and seeing how your work makes a difference will be reward enough! Whether it’s with The Pituitary Foundation or another worthy cause there are plenty of opportunities out there.
