Simple stresses make life and symptoms worse. Being in as much control of my week, what I have planned and the 3 elements has led me to the Saturday checks.
It's basically a list of things to go through each week to ensure that emails are up to date, I have analysed things in my log and looked for tips and patterns, things that work, things that didn't. Then theres bigger stuff like Tesco, checking my online banking, organising and syncing diaries with carer to make sure that the week is balanced with easy tasks, normal everyday tasks, not too many challenges and some home days for recovery.
Then there's clothes to get out, a spare pair of PJ's is always good as well. This can help me when I'm feeling overwhelmed. With things like banking. I get the emails to check card statements and account statements through the week but can delete them as I know they come up on Saturday so it reduces that temptation to click 'check' and get distracted and off track. It also helps inform me for my day plans of things that need attention. It helps me to look at the tasks I need to complete for the week and workout the best days to do things, what time to swim and when the identified challenges are best placed.
As mentioned I utilise my log to analyse my health and well being to see what lessons I have learnt from mistakes I have made during the week. This can unveil some very simple tips which could be used in the week ahead and make something just 10% easier to complete. The log also helps to help me make day plans as the ones in my log are great to work from.
A very simple checklist and easy to get sorted, can be quite tiresome and breaks are definitely needed but if helps then do it. Hopefully this process will leave you with more positive energy to deal with whatever life throws at you throughout the week.
Don't forget you could even spread this across two days using your weekend to feel ready and raring to go! We tried it and it didn't work for us but you may feel different. We prefer to leave a Sunday as an out day. It's easier to access shops, cafes and places of interest etc as they aren't till later in the morning meaning there is no need to rush through the morning routine. You may decide to try a day in the week or even spread things out so you plan and prepare a couple of things each day. Try it and see what works for you. It can take away some of that anxious tension and anxiety over decision making and confusion.
